Ven is...better. Like both he and I are still trying to sort out some stuff right now, but currently it's mostly like:
OH GOD MY TEAM IS HAPPY AGAIN I LOVE THIS SO MUCH I CANNOT FIND WORDS FOR IT. And people are actually paying attention to me and letting me love on them and yesss. +100000 deredot in general. +1000 Lelouch hugs <333
There's still some lurking "how does I Peridot?" and "everybody's okay with shanking people in games except for meeeee wat do" and "my team is craaazyyy" and "I'm not a kiiid," but at the moment those are so back-burnered to the massive pile of deredot that is our latest cabinpost. Seriously. Everybody's hugging it out and Lelouch and Suzaku are like this close to making out. It's awesome.
Sion prodding Cassie about stuff, and Suzaku in general: major progress with the "nobody tells me anything" and "I am not just something to be protected" issues. Suzaku gets, like, so many points for being an authority figure who treats him like an adult (first time that's happened, pretty much), and Sion gave Cassie an attitude adjustment about actually, y'know, asking Ven what he wants and what's best for him, and yeah. Progress. The fact that Suzaku is just like "I'm honest with you and tell you stuff because you're Peridot, as well as President's heartgame, are improving his attitude towards actually being a member of this crazy team.
Like, he doesn't expect any of those issues to be resolved in a day. He's currently content to just...work to fix the ones he can in a slow and sane fashion, and...do his best to ignore the ones he can't so he can stay sane. First actual PvP traumagame will still break him, and he knows it, but there's nothing he can do about it, so he might as well...deal. Ditto things like "Beato is psychotiiiiic."
Also now that his team is functional again, he's actually started to think about the rest of his life properly. Like, I need to quest for my sword. I need to go play soccer with Valiant. I need to go love on my twin. He's been sort of muddling along recently, but I think he will now be able to turn happy-extrovert-Ven back up to full blast.
This might also mean he has time to think about his crushes, for great awkwaaaaard.

IC: Derpy fun stuff where you win by being nice to people. Like Ven's favorite game so far was Kiriko's.
OOC: ANYTHING. Esp. anything on the darker/traumatic side. Esp. if it's all about choosing to take trials and pain upon yourself. Like the most recent Masked Lady game. Also I will always love a game with a bondage quotient because of my teeeaaaaaam.

WHAT APPEALS MOST JEEZ um. TRAUMA. ALL THE TRAUMA. That was really something I was looking for in a second character. And while Bujold is not graphic, nor does she pull her punches, and he's a character who at multiple points in his life has been raped and tortured, whose life has been so shitty and whose psyche is so warped that he's actually HEALTHIER with a five-way split personality. AND who is then able to go on and live a relatively normal life as an epic interplanetary businessman with his trauma-born split personalities chattering in the back of his head. (When I get them back, I will do the best interior monologues for KK!)
The reason it took me so long to re-app thar was that I was honestly pretty intimidated to even try to play this character. Bujold is just so psychological detailed and astute in her characterization that playing one of her characters, never mind disassembling and reassembling one in an amnesia game, is just like "welp, gotta go get my steel balls." But the idea of playing Mark just would not leave my mind, because I love him so. And disassembling and reassembling of identity is such a THEME with him, and. Yes. So I figured I'd give him my best shot.
FUN FACTS...uh...
He's commented once or twice that he has wires crossed in his head, just, like, deep down and fundamental, probably with roots in his abusive upbringing. Physical masochist, emotional masochist, sexual masochist. He sometimes finds it easier to cope with being hated than with being loved on.
With full skillz, this 4'9" fat guy is probably one of the deadliest hand-to-hand fighters in Aather.
He was trained to replace an important political figure's son and assassinate him. The primary method was to be a small chemical patch, applied to the skin, that would induce a heart attack and then dissolve. It would take about twenty minutes. He was to sit, wait, and never let on that he was not his son.
By my read, Mark is mmmostly straight (likes cute moe girls, this be canon). Grunt, his sexuality persona, is omnisexual. There may be points in his memory acquisition when the thought of gay sex will give him cattle-prod-rape-conditioned panic attacks. HAVE FUN, AATHER.
He has ALL THOSE CLONE ISSUES too, I just didn't have any space for them in app because I was too busy with ALL HIS OTHER ISSUES.
Did I mention that he kicked his torturer to death with his bare feet with both hands tied behind his back yet? Probably. But it's too epic not to mention again. LORD MARK VORKOSIGAN RESCUES HIMSELF, BITCHES.
Yes, I would intend to do a heartgame with him someday. Insert evil laughter here.
